Dustin Strand swept both ends of the double header last Friday night at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND. Strand, driver of the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing Millenium, lead flag-to-flag in both features, collecting his 13th and 14th career series wins, passing both Mitch Johnson and Jeff Wildung to move alone into fifth on the all time wins list.

For the 25th time in series history, the NLRA is scheduled to visit the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN this Saturday night, June the 24th. This will be the series third race on the newly reconfigured high banked oval that measures at just over a quarter-mile.
Another John Seitz Memorial is in the books as the tenth running of the event took place at the River Cities Speedway last week. Thursday night was marred by rain delays, but produced a new track record holder in Wissota national point leader Dustin Strand, and a new three-time NLRA series champion in Brad Seng. Friday saw the original Seitz memorial pole sitter, Steve Laursen, earn the pole once again. Saturday saw Elk Mound, Wisconsin native AJ Diemel join Brad Seng as the only two-time champions in the events' history.
On Friday night, September the 8th, the NLRA will but a ribbon on its' 19th season with the sixth running of the 'Prelude to the Johnny' at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND. The event kicks off the three day, tenth annual John Seitz Memorial.
Last season, Elk Mound, Wisconsin's AJ Diemel, became the fourth native of the dairy state to win the Prelude in its' five years history. Adam Hensel of Barron, John Kaanta of Elk Mound, and Pat Doar on New Richmond, were winners of the event in 2011, 2012, and 2013 respectively. Ricky Weiss became the first non-Wisconsinite to win the race in 2014.
For the ninth time in series history, the NLRA will spend its' Labor Day weekend at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN. The regulars of the NLRA series will take on the 51-year-old half-mile oval on the Douglas County Fairgrounds for the 38th time in series history.
Last season, for the first time ever, Viking aces Jeff Wildung and Zach Johnson were held out of the win column. Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom, and Don Shaw in the Shaw Trucking No. 42S, became just the third and fourth drivers not named Wildung or Johnson to win on Labor Day weekend in Alexandria.
The NLRA is set to head north to make it's lone appearance in Canada for the 2016 season on Thursday night at the Red River Co-Op Speedway in Winnipeg, before heading back south on Friday to once again share the spotlight with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks.
On Thursday night, August the 25th, the NLRA makes its' 26th appearance at the Red River Co-Op Speedway in Winnipeg, Manitoba, for the third annual Can-Am Late Model Challenge. Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Millenium, picked up his fourth win of the season Saturday night at the Devils Lake Speedway. Strand took the lead on a late restart and won his ninth NLRA series feature, putting him alone in eighth on the series all-time wins list. Strand has been on a hot streak lately, as he has won four of the last six NLRA features, sweeping the season series in Devils Lake, along with winning a Modified feature at the Speedway two weeks ago.
This Saturday night, August the 20th, the NLRA will head west for the 19th time in series history to the Devils Lake Speedway near Crary, ND. For the third time this season, the NLRA will share the stage with the Northern Outlaw Sprint Association.
The upper-midwest's two premier racing series co-headlined events at the Red River Valley Speedway on July 17, and the Greenbush Race Park on July 30. This will be the first time in the 16 year history of the Devils Lake Speedway, which started out as the SAAGA International Speedway in 2000, that Late Models and Sprint Cars have raced on the same night at the track. Shane Edginton won on a last lap pass in turn four at the Jamestown Speedway on Saturday for his second career series victory, while Dustin Strand won his third NLRA feature victory in five races Sunday night at the Buffalo River Race Park in Glyndon, MN. Edginton Steals One at the Line in Jamestown Canadians Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Enns Brothers Black Diamond, and Dave Smith, in the No. 06 Polar Industries Capital lead the field to the green. Balcaen won the drag race to turn one, but Smith motored around the outside, and took the lead down the back stretch.
